.add a little detail Appearance: One of the first things anyone noticed about Renji (aside from his ridiculous awesome head gear) is his red hair, usually pulled back into a tight ponytail. This is followed closely by the realization that this man aside from his some pretty far out hair we see that he has some extreme tattoos going on, tribal in design and starting on his forehead (around his eyebrows) and moving to his neck, proceeding to cover his back and arms. The majority of this tattoo work is hidden, however, by his usual shinigami attire: which is basically a set of black robes. He is roughly 6'2"
Personality:As stubborn and strong willed as they come Renji is loud mouthed and obstinate. He likes to fight and is damn proud of his abilities as a shinigami and can even be a tad over confident about them at times which is also often his down fall. He can come off as rather rude but he has a good heart, being particularly concerned with those he considers comrades like Rukia and even Ichigo (when the punk isn’t pissing him off). He doesn’t know the meaning of the word subtle and is very often blunt and straight to the point about things. Renji is also rather quick to get angry so watch out about pissing him off…he might just beat you up.
When he's not getting into an argument Renji is actually quite serious by nature sometimes bordering on stand-offish. Despite his stand-offish attitude he really does care deep down he just tends to hide any feelings like that because they tend to get in the way of his duty as well as ruin his 'reputation' and image. Renji is never one to care about the stakes of a situation and even if he is pushed to the brink of death he will fight on for those he cares about or what he believes in.
Background: Renji never knew his parents, as far back as he can remember he grew up in an orphanage with a lot of other kids. Despite this, it was never really sad for him, in fact, he made some great friends that he came to consider his family. Perhaps the one down side is that no one ever wanted to adopt him. Around the age of 7 Renji came to believe he would never be adopted and decided instead that he would leave the orphanage and go find a family on his own. This didn't go over well with the orphanage of course, but Renji was a smart kid and was determined not to go back.
Eventually he joined up with other kids that lived on the street. Renji was accepted pretty quickly because the kids knew it was best to stick together. Well, for the most part, kids tended to drift in and out of the gang and Renji was one of the few older kids to keep them together. One of those orphans stuck out in particular and he grew close to her, but eventually she too disappeared before he knew what was happening.
The summer of Renji's eleventh birthday a strange man came to tell Renji that he had the potential to do magic. He asked Renji if he would like to come to his school. Considering Renji hadn't attended school since he left the orphanage this came as quite a shock. At first he brushed the old man off, but somehow the guy kept popping up, telling Renji about the place called Hogwarts. Before Renji knew it he was following the guy to Diagon Alley and learning all that there was to know about wizards and witches.
Renji had a hard time adjusting to school life at first. Following rules was not something he was used to...or having a meal whenever he wanted it. However, Renji was a pretty cool guy once you got past the grumpy exterior and he quickly made friends in his House as well as in some of the other Houses. It was during his first year that Renji finally decided he was going to be more than just some dog on the streets, Hogwarts was going to give him the opportunity to be something more.
The next year, the girl who he had grown close to in his gang showed up. He was surprised to see her, mostly because he hadn't known she was a witch, too. Still, he had heard the rumors about her being from a prestigious family now and so he kept his distance.
The rest of his years up till now at Hogwarts have been pretty uneventful. Well, aside from the fact that since his first year at Hogwarts, Renji has been getting a tribal tattoo design for each year he completes. It's gotten to be fairly intricate, but don't ask where he finds someone willing to put a tattoo on underage person. Renji is currently taking courses that will help him become an Auror.
